Testimony of Sham Sunder

My name is Sham Sunder. I was raised in a Buddhist background, where I learned discipline, meditation, and the importance of peace and compassion. Buddhism taught me to look inward and to control desire and suffering. For many years, I sincerely followed these teachings, hoping to find freedom from inner emptiness and lasting peace.

Yet, despite my efforts, I felt something was missing. I tried harder more meditation, more self-control but deep inside, I still carried guilt, fear, and unanswered questions about life, sin, and what happens after death. I realized that no matter how much I tried to improve myself, I could not change my heart.

One day, I encountered the message of Jesus Christ. I heard that salvation is not achieved by human effort, but is a gift of grace. Jesus did not tell me to save myself He offered to save me. I learned that He is the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose again so that I could have new life.

As I read the Bible and prayed, I felt a peace I had never known before. It was not something I achieved through discipline; it was something I received through faith. For the first time, I understood God not as a distant goal, but as a loving Father who knows me personally.

When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, my life changed. I experienced forgiveness, freedom from guilt, and a personal relationship with God. The emptiness in my heart was filled not by my own efforts, but by God’s love.

Today, I no longer follow Buddhism. I follow Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life. My hope is no longer in what I can do, but in what Christ has already done for me. I thank God for His grace and for leading me from searching to salvation.

All glory to Jesus Christ. Amen.
