Finding God’s Steady Hand When Life Spins Out of Control.

Dear Beloved, we live in a world built on convenience and control. We have machines that drive for us, systems that think for us, and technologies that promise safety and ease. But every so often, life reminds us that even the most advanced devices can fail.
Recently, a driver learned this the hard way. His cruise control that feature meant to hold steady on the highway got stuck. The car wouldn’t slow down until police was able to stop it by God grace.
We often trust the systems around us our routines, our jobs, our finances, our own understanding just as that driver trusted her car. But when those systems fail, it reveals something vital our ultimate safety does not come from man-made control but from divine oversight.
The Bible says:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.”
Proverbs 21:31
The driver could have lost hope when his car wouldn’t respond. Yet, just as he cried out for help, help arrived. Police officers surrounded his car and brought safely to a stop.
Friends, that’s how God operates. When life spins out of control when you can’t slow down, when fear grips your heart He dispatches His help at the right moment.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1
Even when you feel trapped in a situation you can’t control, God is control.
Some of us are holding the wheel too tightly not just in our cars, but in our lives. We want control over every outcome, every decision, every future. But sometimes, God allows us to see that we’re not in full control so that we learn to let Him drive.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Psalm 46:10
Let go of your fear. Let go of your need to control everything. Because when you can’t take your foot off the pedal, God can still stop the car. When you can’t steer your situation, He can still guide you safely home.
That driver’s story is more than a mechanical failure it’s a divine reminder. Machines fail. People fail. Systems fail. But God’s faithfulness never fails.
“For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
Psalm 91:11
