A Personal Testimony of Grace-Enabled Forgiveness, Inner Healing, and Unshakable Joy in Jesus

In my previous company, I had an office colleague who followed a pagan faith. He was often accompanied by anger, sadness, and deep inner conflict. Though he prayed regularly, his past wounds continued to hurt his present. The weight of old pain never seemed to lift, and forgiveness felt beyond his reach.
One afternoon at work, we spoke more personally. That was when he noticed something different about me. He saw me celebrating life every day not because life was perfect, but because my heart was at peace. I lived in love, togetherness, and quiet joy. He asked how I could remain so steady, even when circumstances were difficult.
A Peace That Drew Questions
I told him it was my relationship with Jesus Christ.
Knowing Jesus His everlasting love, His enduring presence, and His humble, heart-warming way of life changed everything for me. I celebrate life because Jesus’ love overcomes hate, and where His love lives, forgiveness is born.
The Bible says:
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
— Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)
Learning Forgiveness Through Grace, Not Force
My colleague struggled deeply with forgiveness. His faith gave him practices, but no living relationship to walk with him through pain. I, too, had been hurt, betrayed, and taken advantage of. Yet through Jesus, I learned forgiveness not by force, but by grace. Jesus did not command me from a distance; He stayed close. When I was tempted to hold on to resentment, His gentle voice reminded me to remain humble.
Jesus teaches:
“I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”
— Matthew 18:22 (KJV)
When Forgiveness Becomes Freedom
After I surrendered my life fully to Jesus, something changed within my heart. Forgiveness was no longer compulsory or heavy. There was no pressure only freedom. Those who hurt me no longer had power over my peace. The burden lifted because Christ carried it with me.
While my colleague continued to struggle on his own, Jesus became closer than a friend to me present in my weakness, offering guidance, dignity, and strength where human effort fails.
As Scripture declares:
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
— Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
Never Walking Alone
This was the difference my colleague witnessed in the office every day: struggle without Christ, and joy with Christ. Not because life is easier, but because with Jesus, I never walk alone.
